Chapter 7: And Pappy makes Six...I think

"Hey, guys. What are your parents talking about?"

I don't know what's harder to believe: that Dwayne and Erica seem bothered about something, or that they've not told the kids.

"Yeah, it ain't like 'em at all! You know anything, Waylon?"

"I do not. I am as confused as the two of you."

Chapter 6: Oh-So-Cold-Blooded

"Hey, fang boy! What'd I tell you about showing your face around here?"

Today at school, the teacher insisted on us partnering up with another student for something.

It was study-related, and that's about all I remember. Well, that, and I remember hearing the last name "Van Gould" as my partner.

Maybe that should've set off an alarm for me?

Chapter 5: Biggest Mother of All

"Um...Erica, right?"

"The one, the only, kid!"

To be honest, Erica looks nothing like I thought she would. I'd expected her to look more...wolfish?

But then, Dwayne doesn't look like that, either.

"Um...I take it you're an athlete?"

"You bet! Used to be a pro wrestler. I'm semi-retired now. Keyword is 'semi-'.

...Well, there's one type of person(?) I thought I'd never meet.

Chapter 4: Dressing the Part

"So the agency says you're a twin?"

I never thought I'd trust an adult I'm not related to, but Dwayne seems nice enough.

"Yeah. He's the reason I had to leave my old house."

"Well, then talk about sibling rivalry gone wrong! If your twin's that bad, then I don't want to meet him."

Chapter 3: Home Sweet Home

"So, um...Most sincere apologies that you had to see that. There are times when we are unable to contain our lycanthropic tendencies. Father seems to have forgotten that when he went to greet you."

I'll say. I never even knew 'lycanthropic' was a word until now.

"So you are Joe, I presume? It seems we're to share a room while you stay here. Not that I mind in the least. I quite enjoy being able to relate to someone."

This guy certainly doesn't look like he'd talk so eloquently. But that could just be me.

"Might I ask the circumstances that led to you joining our household?"

Chapter 2: Wolfish Welcome Wagon

I'm going to be sent away.

No matter how many times I tell myself I must be dreaming, the reality is still there.

I can't believe that I'm pretty much going to get kicked out of my own home.

No doubt Jules will be celebrating when he finds out. I don't know how my sisters will take it, but I know for sure he's gonna be really happy about it.

Mom and Dad tried to reassure me. They said the family's nice, the school isn't too incredibly far away...

Still.

I'm at least grateful Mom decided to bring me...

Chapter 1: Deal with It

Right.

So what did I supposedly do this time?

Well, it involved water, that's for sure. So...trick faucet?

Seriously, Jules? That was the best you could come up with? Or maybe that's what he wanted me to think. Something so mundane that no magic whatsoever could possibly be involved.

In other words, he made it look like I did it.

What a jerk.

So now I gotta take the fall for something he did. Hopefully it's something I can deal with, like grounding or privilege deprivation.

Heck, knowing my dad, he'd probably send me to boot camp.

Well, let's see how this goes...
